Book Review: The Fiery Heart

This book was my favourite!!! I loved that Sydney and Adrian are FINALLY together. They make an amazing couple and I love their time together. They have to keep it secret but Jill knows because of the bond.

This book is the start of every chapter being different POV – either Sydney or Adrian and I like seeing Adrians POV so so much.

There are 2 new characters in this book: Neil and Zoe. Neil is another dhampire and he’s by the books kind of guy for the most part until they have to have someone test out Sydney’s ink. I love that he breaks from the dhampire directive and the group helps him get a Strigoi to bite him to test it all out. The group is really a family.

I HATE ZOE. She’s a little brat that needs to be put into time out for ever. She wants her dads approval so badly she’s willing to throw Sydney under the bus. I just can’t stand her and my eyes roll every time she speaks! And the way she betrays Sydney at the very end makes me want her to die off. She should get bitten by a Strigoi or become a feeder. I just can’t stand her, and don’t even get me STARTED on her dad. Oh my god, he is the worst piece of shit person ever.

The ending made me so angry on Sydneys behalf and made me so sad for Eddie and Adrian. Eddie tried so hard to keep her safe but he couldn’t do it and she sacrificed herself for him so he would get away and be safe. I hope I don’t have tears when I read the re-education parts in the next book but I probably will.

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the wolds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives.

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her…

But the struggle isn’t over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there’s still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure — and re-education — looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.
