Even though I didn’t enjoy the first book I still read this one. I like the crime part of the books, the romance parts are just silly and forced. The heroine of this book I don’t get how she is an FBI agent and has all her anxiety issues. I get that what happened to her in the past makes her scared of elevators (her and the hero were in an elevator when a bomb went off in the building) but you would think the FBI would make their agents go to counselling and have to clear them for field work. The hero of the book was with her in the past and lost his arm, which led him to drink away his problems and force himself on the heroine in a supply closet (just force kissing and a little groping). I don’t get how these characters have any heat at all, it’s all forced for me. The crime part of this book is very lack luster and the ending wasn’t satisfying enough at all. Throw in a surprise pregnancy because of a failed IUD, a glimpse at the next 2 characters to be written about (they hate each other – big surprise!), and you have a hastily written book that’s supposed to want the readers to continue the series.

Everyone made mistakes, but some were far more dangerous than others…
Fin McLaughlin wanted nothing more than to make a difference in his work with the FBI. Headhunted by the deputy director of the Bureau to head up a new division located in St. Louis, Fin was determined to make amends for the mistakes he’d made six years earlier that had almost cost him his career—and his life.
Those mistakes had cost him Agent Ana Sorin, and he would never forget that. Fin had never treated a woman the way he had her, and he never would again. He just wished he could tell her that someday.
Ana had spent six years recovering from the nightmare explosion she’d shared with her former partner Fin. When Fin walks into the St. Louis FBI building where she’d rebuilt her career, Ana was at a loss for words.
Not to mention she didn’t have a clue what to do next with the tall, good looking man who was about to become her boss!
Too many issues had been left unresolved between Ana and Fin and between them and the man responsible for the bomb that had nearly killed them both.
Too many things had just been left WAITING for all of them.
They had waited long enough…
