Updates

8 / 17 / 18

I haven’t updated in a while, I’ve been so busy with crafting and reading books that I haven’t even thought of updating the site. I haven’t even done my reviews! I have about 17 reviews to do so I need to get on those. Right now my life is consumed with World of Warcraft though LOL. The new expansion Battle for Azeroth came out on Monday and I’ve been playing it nonstop when I’m not working or sleeping. I got my first level 120 character (my hunter) yesterday and I started leveling my priest as well. Jessica and I have been pvping (Player vs Player) since Tuesday and it is SO MUCH FUN. I love pvp again and being able to kill Alliance players is so satisfying.

We decided to go back to Horde this expansion, last expansion we played mainly Alliance and that was fun but I missed my Horde characters and I am a follower of Sylvanas forever so OF COURSE I had to go Horde this time. The zones to level in are so beautiful and there are so many dinosaurs to tame on my hunter that I may need to abandon some old pets at some point. Or level another hunter so I can tame more pets on it lol.

I’ve been working on cardigans for my cousins daughters and I’ll be making one for my little as well. So I have 4 to make. I’m almost done 2 of them, just need to sew sleeves on one and do the edging and sleeves on the 2nd one. I’m thinking about leaving the sleeves on all 4 of them until I can do them all at once. I need to watch a video for it so it might make it easier to do it all at once so I don’t forget the technique.

I’m going to be updating my WoW page to put in my addons and some more pictures and things. I might also put some guild info on there as well. I know people don’t really come to my site often, so the info would just be for me really which is fine.

OH I got a Cricut in July and I’ve been making SO many things with it. I’m in love with making vinyl creations and I also got leather to make earrings. I’ve gotten alot of blanks to put decals on and my little and I are thinking about doing a craft fair next year with things we make. We need to get stock built up for it though and that takes money which is why we’re going to be doing it next year. I tried to add the photos of what I’ve made so far but WordPress is putting them on the post and on a page I tried to make all funny. I’ve posted all my stuff on Instagram so if you’re curious you can check them out there 🙂

I also finished my Harry Potter blanket!!! It took me forever because it has been way to hot to work on it and I had to do border panels. When I finished it ith the border around the tunisian squares I realized I was going to have to make the panels because the top and bottom were curling a lot. Even after steam blocking they still curled. But now it’s all finished and ready to be shipped.

I think that’s all I’ve done in the past few months. I’ve been ordering way too much yarn lately and I have a craft retreat coming up in October so I’ll try to post what I make there. I’m also going to work on the book reviews once I get time and the game is settled down for me.

World of Warcraft – My Addons

9 / 1 / 15

This post is about my Addons that I use in World of Warcraft. I use soooo many! I’ve tried playing without any addons at all and at level 100 it’s just not doable – especially if you raid. I’ve tried several different Addons during the time I raided in previous expansions and different UI settings, but I think I got it to how I like it now. I have tried some different art sets that put backgrounds at the bottom and frame everything nicely, but it takes away from the graphics of the game so I didn’t stick with them.

Here is what my game looks like while in a raid (click to make bigger):

Screenshot 1

See it looks way different than the normal gaming interface! Here’s a list of the core addons that I cannot play without – even while leveling.

Titan Panel: Titan Panel adds one or two information bars on the top and/or bottom of the screen and allows a framework for extensive plugin support.

titanpanel

I use this addon for so many things. I can track my location, bag space, gold useage on all of my characters, honor points, garrison resources, apexis crystals, etc. There are literally dozens of extra plugins you can get for this addon to track whatever you want. I use:

Garrison Resources
Social
Apex Crystal
Gathered
Honor Points

I have a few others but I don’t have them active unless I need them. The ones I’ve listed above are the ones that are active all the time. This is the best addon I’ve found that does so many things in 1 bar it’s amazing. You can move the bar to be either at the top of the screen or the bottom and you can also make it to be 2 bars. You can also change the look of it with different skins that come with it. All in all this is my #1 recommended addon to anyone who plays the game.

Z-Perl: Perl, with Extra stuff. Much enchanced from Nymbia’s Perl UnitFrames, and a complete replacement for Blizzard’s default unit frames, including raid frames and raid tools, with little remaining of the original Nymbia code.

As you can see in my screenshot above of what my game looks like you can see the character, target and party frames are drastically different from the default blizzard frames. You can move them anywhere on the screen, change the colours, make the character icon 3D, add percentages, and so much more! I’ve turned off a lot of the defaults that came with this addon, I don’t need 3D images, I like the flat colours that I’m using and I don’t need raid frames or party buffs/debuffs. I’ve also turned off player buffs because I like having those at the top right beside the mini map. I moved my player and target frames closer to my action bars because it’s easier to see when I’m low health and also my targets health. I used to keep them at the top left where the default frames were but I find this is just easier for my game play. I don’t use the raid frames because I’m a DPS class. If I were to play a healer or tank in raids I would be using different raid frames altogether (Grid + Clique addons).

Bartender: Bartender4 is a full ActionBar replacement mod. It provides you with all the features needed to fully customization most aspects of your action and related bars.

Again as you can see in my game screenshot that my action bars are not the default gaming bars. Bartender gives you the ability to move your bars around, add more bars, change the size and add keybinds easier. I’ve increased the size of the buttons, moved my micro menu (all the default buttons for the game) to the bottom right, changed the bags to be 1 button and added side bars as well. This has given me the ability to move the chat screen to the bottom left and make it bigger without taking over part of my action bars space. Great addon for those who want more buttons and don’t like the blizzard art bar in the way.

ArkInventory: Able to see all your items in your bags in one window, same as your bank.

arkinventory

I haven’t really used this addon to it’s full potential at all. I only use it to see all my items in my bags in one window. It just makes everything easier for me to see what I have on hand. I don’t use it for all of my characters though, only my Mage. I will probably enable it on other characters once they hit level 100 and start to do dailies and farm things. It’s supposed to be able to let you see your other characters bags and banks but I haven’t been able to get it to do that yet. It does show if you hover over an item if another character also has it and how many which I really like. With certain items I’ve been collecting I don’t want to purchase the same item on the Auction House if I already have it on my bank alt for example.

Postal: Enhanced Mailbox.

postal

If you do a lot of mailing between characters or autioning like I do you’ll need this addon!!! You can click the button at the bottom of the screen to open all and it does it all for you. No more right clicking on 50 mails to get your gold from auctions or items from friends. This addon is a MUST. It keeps track of who you’ve sent mails to before and it auto completes names. Fantastic addon!!

SexyMap: Enhanced MiniMap.

sexymap

I got this map so I could hide a lot of the default buttons and add extra things that I liked. I added coordinates to the buttom above the clock because when looking up quests on WoWhead I find that most people will post coordinates to things and if you have nothing to show that you’re stuck. Titan Panel also comes with that option but I like it on my map better. It also looks nice with the blue skin. I think you can change that but I like the default so I’ve kept it that way. You can also right click on the mini map to bring up the options so you can change anything you want.

Scrap: Scrap sells all your junk when you visit a merchant.

This addon is a MUST MUST MUST have. Auto sells all your junk items (greys) whenever you click on a vendor. You can also set it up to auto repair your items when you click on a repair vendor. I’ve set it up to auto repair from my own funds but you can set it to guild repair if your guild has that option. Mine always do but I never repair from the guild unless it’s a guild raid for progression. I’m weird that way but I don’t like taking from the guild for anything unless I have to. That goes for items in the guild bank as well.

Raiding Addons

If you raid you’ll need to get these addons. I’m not going to post descriptions for these because not everyone raids, and they aren’t needed for regular game play. If you’d like to know more follow the links 🙂

Deadly Boss Mods
Omen Threat Meter
Recount
Grid
Clique
Decursive
GTFO

Other Addons

This list is other addons I use but aren’t really needed for gameplay. They’re just helpful for the lazy person I am.

Master Plan – gives a nice interface for the garrison missions.
NPC Scan – scans and alerts you to rare mob spawns and keeps track of the Tanaan jungle rares.
Handy Notes – shows all the hidden treasures around the world you can loot.
Handy Notes Draenor – adds Draenor treasures to this addon.
Pettracker – shows you what pets/mounts/toys you still need to collect and what zones they’re in.

Keeping Everything Updated

Since I use SO MANY addons I have to use the Curse Client to keep them all updated. It also has a handy function that lets you auto install addons from their website to your client. You can only install/update 1 addon at a time unless you get the premium version but they install so quickly that it’s not really needed. Unless you have a terrible internet connection that is.

If I’ve missed any addons I may come back and edit this post but for now that’s it. I’m sure I’ve missed a few addons (I am making this post from work after all :P). If you find an addon you’d like my opinion on please feel free to ask! I test out new addons all the time to see if I like them and I’ve actually found a few I want to test out while making this post hehe.
